Let’s face it, the best weather of the year is over… is this such a bad thing though?
Rather than throw a strop because the sun has gone on holiday, why not embrace the autumn chill and use it as a excuse to try out hairstyles you were too shy to embrace in summer?
Anyway, for a little hairspiration we’ve compiled a few styles that Tana B can provide this winter as well as a couple of fun celebratory ideas!
- The Christmas/New Year Party Do
Up ‘Do’s are always popular around this time of year but why not add a little extra shimmer to your hair with some tasteful glitter spray? As long as you keep your make up and the rest of you clear of the glitz, your hair should really stand out and offer a sweet playful edge to the traditional up ‘do.
This particular style was chosen by Olivia Graham for Seventeen.com.
- The Piecey Pixie
A great idea we came across in Harpers Bazaar, a full fringed pixie cut doesn’t always bring out the most effeminate features so why not chop and thin that fringe a little? This great picture of Lily Collins should help!
- Layered Braiding
Some people worry that the damp air and glacial chill will set their hair into an unruly fizz but there are some delightful tactics to combat this. Another idea from Seventeen which we can help with is the ‘braided halo’ which divides the hair into four sections with braids at the front and a twisted back. The subsequent wrap around looks magic!
- The Chic Knot
As highlighted by Vogue, this year has seen a triumphant return of the chic knot. Rather than opt for free falling waves why not tie up the bun with an alternative tweak?
- Dyed Wavy Bob
This is a great time of year to change the colour of your hair and bring out your punky side. Let us know if you want to try something new!
